The collection contains children and young adult materials, fiction and nonfiction, for preK-12 such as classics, picture books, board books, beginning-to-read books, nursery rhymes, biographies, folk literature, fairy tales, mythology, modern fantasy, and poetry. The library also collects youth books in Spanish and Indigenous languages as well as bilingual. Many books are award winning titles which are listed on the catalog record for each title (you can search for certain award titles by searching for the award name in the catalog "Newbery", "Caldecott", or "Coretta Scott King" for example). This collection is cataloged like the rest of the library using the Library of Congress classification system which means that the books are not separated by reading level, or by whether they are fiction or non-fiction.
