Access The New York Times

Reed Library provides full online access to The New York Times for the Fort Lewis College community, including current students, faculty, and staff. Subscriptions are activated by registering and activating a pass.

How long does my pass last?

Passes last for one year. Please note that there is no reminder for pass expiration and NYT recommends setting a calendar reminder. 

New Subscribers

Use these directions if you have never had a subscription to the New York Times before. 

Please note you must be on campus to complete your new subscription.

  1. Go to accessnyt.com
  2. Under Find School, type Fort Lewis College
  3. Click Go [Note: If you are off-campus you will need to login with your FLC CAS credentials]
  4. Click Create Account and complete your registration, using your @fortlewis.edu email

Continuing Subscribers

Use these directions if you already have a New York Times account or are renewing your annual access through your Fort Lewis College subscription.

Please note you must be on campus to renew your subscription.

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above
  2. Click on Log in here after the prompt Already have an account?
  3. Enter your previous credentials

Faculty have access to The New York Times in Education and The New York Times in Leadership resources that provide educators opportunities to connect curriculum to real-world events. Resources include a daily article with discussion questions, reading lists, webcasts with Times journalists and more.
