Visual Story Creation

There are many other resources for creating digital stories, and a number of excellent companies that do digital story creation and training workshops, but these examples are recommended based on the personal/professional use and experience of FLC faculty and librarians

WE VIDEO: An Open Source Digital Story Creation Tool
This site offers Free, cloud-sourced tools with minimum storage and export quality, as well as increased storage and export quality for various fees.
IMovie for I-Pad and Mac users
The IMovie program includes audio editing, graphics and effects, and the ability to screen your movie on iPhone, iPad, iPod, Apple TV, Facebook, and YouTube

These recommended sites provide visual images and film/movie resources that can be used without fear of copyright infringement.

Creative Commons (CC Search)
Use this search tool to look for images that are not restricted by copyright. Choose from Flickr, Google Images, Photopedia, Pixabay, and others, but remember to doublecheck if the image(s) you find are "free" to use, or if artist/creator attribution or restrictions apply
FLICKR (via Creative Commons)
There are several hundred million images on flickr that are licensed under Creative Commons. This means you can use these images for digital story-making. There are some restrictions if you’re altering images or making money off your digital storytelling, though it depends on the specific CC license.

World Digital Library
The World Digital Library (WDL) makes available on the Internet, free of charge and in multilingual format, significant primary materials from countries and cultures around the world.

After you download the KeepVid program, you will need to purchase a license to activate the program and start downloading videos. Please note that the program works on Windows only. The program supports YouTube, DailyMotion, Google Video, Megavideo, Metacafe and Vimeo. It can also be used to store your freshly created digital story.
